Government Shutdown Tracker is an independent informational website. It is not a government agency. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page or to editor@governmentshutdowntracker.com.
Information you provide
If you email us, we receive the address and content you send, plus ordinary email metadata. Use that channel for corrections and source notes only. Do not send Social Security numbers, bank details, medical records, case numbers, or other sensitive personal data. We do not need those records and cannot act on them.
Information collected automatically
The site is a static publication. We use a privacy-oriented analytics script hosted at stats.kzfm.com to count page views and understand which pages are used. It loads in the background and is intended to work without advertising cookies. The company that hosts the site and provides DNS, TLS, and content delivery may also log technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, referring page, and timestamps in order to operate and secure the service. Those logs are controlled by the host’s own policies.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We do not run advertising tags today. If we later add ads—including Google AdSense—we will update this policy, identify the vendors, and present any consent control required by law before optional advertising technologies run. You can block scripts or cookies in your browser at any time, including the analytics script.
If advertising is added, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology subject to Google’s advertising policy and your settings.
Sharing
We do not sell contact messages. Service providers may process data to host, protect, and measure the site. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the site and its users.
Retention and security
Contact mail is kept only as long as needed to review the issue, comply with law, or secure the site. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
This general-audience site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly request their personal information.
Your choices
You can stop using the site, block cookies, or ask us to delete a contact message we still hold by emailing the address above. Hosting logs may be retained by the provider for security and operations.
Changes
If we add advertising, additional measurement, or a form that collects more data, this policy will be revised and the effective date will change.
